About

Ever since early elementary school, Grace has always loved to run. In addition to running, Grace played various sports throughout her athletic career, including soccer, field hockey, swimming and diving, gymnastics, and skiing. After running with various recreational teams in elementary school, Grace was excited to start competing for her middle school’s track team in sixth grade. In seventh grade, she decided to try longer distances, competing for her school cross country team and focusing on the mile during the spring track season. Going into eighth grade, Grace wanted to increasingly focus on running. She trained with emerging elites for the fall and winter of her eighth grade year, which helped her return to the track for her final middle school season as a much improved runner. Grace started her first high school cross country season as her team’s number 5 runner. Grace finished her season as the top runner on her team at Divisionals and All States, where she placed 9th and 23rd overall and 1st and 3rd among freshmen, respectively. She improved her 5k time by over 1.5 minutes, ending the season with a PR of 19:25. She was recognized as a Metrowest Daily News, Boston Globe, and Boston Herald All Star. Grace continued her momentum into the indoor track season, where she focused mainly on the 1 mile. At the Division 2 championships, Grace ran a PR of 5:18, placing 5th, then returned to the track later that night to participate in her team’s 4x800 relay, which also took 5th, helping their team win the meet. She qualified for the All State Meet as an individual and in her relay, as well as qualifying for New Balance Nationals Indoor and Outdoor in the freshman mile.
