About |
Along with running, I enjoy going to the gym to workout and swim with my Mom. I did my first duathlon last September, and I'm training for my first triathlon right now. My favorite part of running is cross country and my favorite events in track are the 1500 and 800.
I also play the cello, and I like to walk to the beach with my family and run on the beach. |
Indoor 2022 |
Macey started her indoor season in style, running 5:32 in the mile for a 2nd-place finish at the MSTCA Auerbach Invitational. At the Patriot League Indoor Championships, she won the 2 mile in 11:52. The following week, she set a PR in the 2 mile (11:26.87), having raced to a 3rd-place finish at the MIAA Division 2 Championships. A week later, she finished 17th in the 2 mile at the MIAA Meet of Champions as a freshman. |
Spring 2022 |
Macey set a personal best in the mile when she ran 5:13.69 for the runner-up spot at the Patriot League Championship. The next week, Macey set a PR in the 2 mile by running 11:41.06 at the MSTCA South Shore Twilight Invitational at Norwell High School. Macey lowered her personal best in the mile, running 5:11.8 and finishing 4th in the MIAA Division 3 Championship. These times qualified her for the girls freshman mile at Nike Outdoor Nationals where she set a 3 second PR of 5:08 and finished 9th among freshman girls at the meet. |
Cross Country 2022 |
Macey opened her cross country season on September 10 with a 3rd-place finish at the Martha’s Vineyard Invitational with a 19:26 5K. Subsequently, she breezed through the scholastic competition, winning the Catholic Memorial Invitational at Franklin Park in 19:29.6. Macey went on to win the Patriot League Cross Country Championships in 19:09. She finished 3rd at the MIAA Division 1 Sectional Championships in 18:55, and finished 13th at the MIAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships to cap off a strong sophomore season. |
Indoor 2023 |
Macey improved her times in nearly every race of her indoor season. She dropped her 1000m time from 3:04 on December 8 to 2:55 at the MIAA Meet of Champions on February 25. In a field of experienced runners, she endured a physically demanding race and finished 2nd in the state with a new personal best. She dropped her mile time from 5:09 on January 15 to 5:03 on February 18, and finished 2nd in the mile at the MIAA Division 2 Championships. Macey was also the Patriot League champion in the mile. Her performances qualified her for the championship 400m, 800, and mile. She ran the 400m at New Balance Nationals with a 59.07 PR, and set another PR in the 800m with a time of 2:15.60. |
Outdoor 2023 |
Macey was selected for the 2023 USATF U18 Mountain Running team along with Emerging Elites teammate Charlotte Tuxbury. It was an honor for her to represent team USA on a world stage. She competed at the International U18 Mountain Running Cup in Annecy, France on May 27. The race was on a 4.6km course with 230 meters (754 ft) of elevation gain and descent. She ran 27:06 and finished 46th in the world for the U18 division. In a quick turnaround, Macey dropped down from distance and altitude to run the 800m at the Battle Road Twilight meet where she ran 2:17.23 for an outdoor personal best. Macey finished her sophomore season with a solid performance in the fastest heat of the scholastic mile at the Adrian Martinez Classic. |
